“We had dry conditions, then rain, then mixed conditions, the wind was also a big factor in this race. It was definitely a long race. Shortly after Fabio took the lead after the start, it started to rain. I was number one until Maverick caught me. I responded quickly, but he passed me again. Then Fabio overtook me. I rolled my eyes and thought it was going to rain a lot. We saw the first crashes at Turn 8, on the back straight we ended up in a wall of rain, so to speak. Fabio's bike slipped at the first chicane, at the second I tried everything to somehow brake my bike, I locked both wheels. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to the long lap all weekend. When I turned there for the first time in the race, the asphalt seemed very slippery. So I was careful, the second one went faster. I didn't waste much time on it, then I gradually recovered. Afterwards I felt alone in front. When I came out of Turn 8 or was in the target corner, I was able to estimate the distance to Johann Zarco at the end very well. I saw it coming. But I was able to control it well, I had good support from the traction control. I thought about going back to the pits and switching to slicks, but the pit lane here is too long.
