MotoGP | Austrian GP Race: Lorenzo Vs Marquez show, Ducati victory
Dovizioso completes the podium, Rossi finishes sixth
MotoGP GP Austria Race – The MotoGP class Austrian Grand Prix (eleventh stage of the 2018 MotoGP World Championship) was based on the duel between the Spaniards Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez, who fought for the victory until the last corner, with Andrea Dovizioso taking part of the match until about 7 laps from the end, when to avoid contact with Marquez, he went wide.
The first to pass under the checkered flag was an extraordinary Jorge Lorenzo, with his third victory with Ducati after those in Mugello and Barcelona.
This is Lorenzo's 47th victory in MotoGP, the 68th of his career. Lorenzo also achieved his 152nd podium in the MotoGP. He is fourth all time, -1 behind Pedrosa's third place.
The Majorcan responded to all of Marquez's attacks, braking to the limit, beating his compatriot by 0.130s. Andrea Dovizioso was third, 1.656s behind. This is a victory for Lorenzo, which also has a bitter taste, given the separation with Ducati which will take place at the end of the season, but today we must celebrate the third consecutive victory of a two-wheeled "Red" on the Austrian circuit.
The first of the pursuers is Cal Crutchlow, however 9.434s behind. The LCR Honda Team rider preceded the Ducati GP18 of Danilo Petrucci (Pramac Racing) from Terni and Valentino Rossi who, after disastrous qualifying, with many apologies from Yamaha, limited the damage.
Rossi preceded Dani Pedrosa's Honda, Alex Rins' Suzuki, Johann Zarco's Yamaha SAT and Alvaro Bautista's Ducati. Vinales, Rossi's team-mate, did not go beyond twelfth position, this is evidence of the good race of the Pesaro native.
No Yamaha in the top 5, this hasn't happened since the 2017 Japanese GP, when the best was that of Zarco, who crossed the finish line eighth.
The world ranking still sees Marc Marquez in command (201 points), the advantage over Rossi is now 59 points, while Lorenzo (130) overtakes Dovizioso by one point.

Please tell me again how superior Zarco is to the one who doesn't complain about Yamaha and blah blah blah..
As almost always during the race it disappears.
Great anyway Lorenzo excellent race and great determination.. Dovi subdued 2 mistakes and inability to close the gap.. I expected more from Petrux
I enjoy immensely seeing the geriatrician behind…
I enjoy seeing Lorenzo riding like this
