MotoGP GP Austria -The first day of free practice of the Austrian Grand Prix, eleventh stage of the 2018 MotoGP, heavily affected by the weather, at least in the second half.

FP1, perhaps the most significant session of the day, ended in the name of the Ducatis. Three Reds ahead of everyone with Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo and Danilo Petrucci. Behind the Borgo Panigale bikes was the world championship leader, Marc Marquez, who used the same set of tires throughout the session, in anticipation of the race.

Bad night in the Yamaha garage. At the ready, Maverick Vinales' bike wheelies every time he opens the throttle, while Valentino Rossi's bike decides to leave it on the road. Broken crown for the rider from Tavullia and a start to the session to forget. Not that the rest of the shift goes any better. At the end of 45 minutes the two finished in tenth and eleventh position respectively, with the 'Doctor' hoping to find the sun in FP3 so as not to have to go through the Q1 trap.

Between the two extremes of the top ten, five riders within 3 tenths: Andrea Iannone, Dani Pedrosa, Cal Crutchlow and Johann Zarco. If these are the values on the field, there will be fun on Sunday.

In the Austrian afternoon, as already mentioned, a storm hits the Spielberg circuit. The organizers postponed the start of the session, but when the pit lane opened the conditions were not the best. On a track that has become a 'lake', Marquez takes the best time followed by an incredible Scott Redding and Danilo Petrucci.
