MotoGP Australian GP Phillip Island Qualifying – Jorge Martin wins the pole of the MotoGP class Australian Grand Prix, the 16th round of the 2023 MotoGP world championship.

The Ducati Pramac team rider stopped the time at 1:27.246 (new track record) ahead of Brad Binder by 0.416s and Francesco Bagnaia by 0.468, forced to take part in Q1.

Aleix Espargarò set the fourth fastest time, ahead of Johann Zarco and an excellent Fabio Di Giannantonio. Marc Marquez (fast lap behind Bagnaia, even followed on the escape route at turn 4, ed.) opens the third row ahead of Jack Miller and Maverick Vinales. Marco Bezzecchi completes the top ten.

Among the other riders who did not pass the Q1 trap were: Alex Marquez who will start 13th ahead of: Augusto Fernandez, Raul Fernandez, Joan Mir, Fabio Quartararo, Luca Marini, Miguel Oliveira, Franco Morbidelli and Takaaki Nakagami.

Alex Rins raised the white flag after suffering pain in the leg injured in the Mugello Sprint race (fractured tibia and fibula).
