MotoGP GP of the Americas – This weekend the MotoGP returns to the track for the fourth round of the 2022 season, next stop in Austin for the Grand Prix of the Americas.

In the first three races of the season we had not only three different winners, but 9 different drivers finished on the podium. This makes it clear how much motorcycles and riders are at a similar level and how only the pursuit of perfection now makes the difference.

Aleix Espargarò achieved the first historic victory for Aprilia and imagining him still fighting for the podium is not so absurd, just like KTM and Suzuki. The only non-Marquez victory at COTA came from the latter manufacturer thanks to Alex Rins in 2019. After a 2021 as protagonists, Ducati and Yamaha seem to be the manufacturers most in difficulty. Francesco Bagnaia, after the GP which ended in fifth place, stated that he had finally found the feeling with the bike again, so in America it will be an important test. World champion Fabio Quartararo, on the other hand, doesn't seem happy at all with his M1 which suffers too much from the change in temperature and grip. Even for the Frenchman, the GP of the Americas could be an important crossroads not only for the season but also for his stay in the house of the three tuning forks.

To the already many uncertainties, however, there is always the unknown Marc Marquez, winner at COTA 7 times out of 8, still in doubt due to vision problems. The Spaniard seems to have made great strides in recent days, but confirmation of his presence or absence will probably only come close to the start of the weekend.

Austin GP Weather

At the moment the forecast predicts sunshine for the entire weekend.
