MotoGP | Argentina GP Press Conference: Dovizioso, “It's important to win in Qatar”

MotoGP GP Argentina Press Conference – Andrea Dovizioso spoke during the press conference to present the Argentine Grand Prix, the second round of the 2018 MotoGP, scheduled for Sunday at 20 pm Italian time.

The Ducati rider, fresh from the splendid victory in the inaugural race in Qatar, is very excited, even if in the last two years he has been knocked to the ground first by his former team-mate Andrea Iannone and last year by Aleix Espargarò. His best result is second place in 2015, and he gets the microphone.

“After a good 2017 championship, confirming my speed in the first race was important. We also fought in Qatar in the past, but this time it was different. I had to recover and manage. It was important to win like this – said Andrea Dovizioso – The last 2 weeks have been good, I trained well and now I will focus on the rest of the championship. Now there will be races where we struggled in previous years. The championship is long and we will have to wait. My relationship with this track is strange. The first year was terrible, then the second year it was good. Our bike is better than last year so we will have some chances. The weather shouldn't be good and the asphalt is new, we have to try it first.”

Speaking about his possible renewal with Ducati he added: “When I have a proposal I will evaluate it”.

On the brake problem suffered by his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo in Qatar he said:

“There was a problem with the brakes, a very dangerous thing, but I think they have everything under control. Jorge used last year's material, we preferred to update. He was better off. But these are things that shouldn't happen."
