MotoGP Argentina GP – After the inaugural stage of the 2019 MotoGP, held as usual at night in Qatar, we return to the track; the next event will be the Argentine GP on the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit.

At Losail, Andrea Dovizioso beat Marc Marquez like last year, this after an exciting duel, which was only resolved under the checkered flag. The result of the race is still sub-judice and between today and tomorrow the final ruling on the Ducati "spoiler", mounted immediately in front of the rear wheel of the Desmosedici GP19, should be known.

Now comes the Termas de Rio Hondo track, a track that last year saw the British Cal Crutchlow triumph on a Team LCR Honda and Johann Zarco and Alex Rins also climbed onto the podium. Dovizioso finished sixth, behind Jack Miller and Maverick Vinales.

A competitive Ducati also at Termas would be a confirmation of the work done by the men from Borgo Panigale, led by Eng. Gigi Dall'Igna. Danilo Petrucci, in his first year as an official, is called upon to respond after the less than brilliant race in Qatar.

Marquez, who last year did all sorts of things, from the start to the contact with Valentino Rossi and the consequent fall of the Pesaro rider, will want to return to the top step of the podium and his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo is also called to redemption, even if the physical condition of the new Honda Repsol rider is not 100%.

Honda worked well, in Qatar we saw a very fast RC213V even in top speed and this gives the riders of the Tokyo company hope.

Yamaha will have to prove that they are in the game. In Qatar none of the M1s got on the podium and Maverick Vinales' pole position was just a flash in the pan at the moment. The best bike from the Iwata manufacturer at the finish line was that of Valentino Rossi, who finished fifth.

On paper, the Argentine circuit is suited to the M1, we'll see how they can manage tire wear on an abrasive asphalt like that of Termas de Rio Hondo.

After the Qatar GP there are also great expectations for Suzuki; Alex Rins showed great pace on the Losail track and rookie Joan Mir also went very fast.

Franco Morbidelli, from this year riding the Yamaha of Team Petronas SRT, will try to improve the eleventh position obtained in Losail.

Argentina GP weather– At the moment the weather forecast is good for Friday and Saturday, while rain is forecast for the race.

Info Argentina GP – The Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, which entered the calendar in 2014, measures 4.8 km and has 5 left-hand corners and 9 right-hand corners. In South America it was raced 10 times from 1961 to 1999, on the Buenos Aires track. In the five editions held so far, Marc Marquez has won twice (2-2014), Valentino Rossi once (2016) as well as Maverick Vinales and Cal Crutchlow.
