MotoGP Gp Aragon Yamaha qualifying – Maverick Vinales set the eleventh fastest time in qualifying for the Aragon Grand Prix, the fourteenth stage of the 2018 MotoGP, but will drop out of fourteenth place due to a penalty.

The Spanish driver slowed down excessively during Q1, obstructing Bradley Smith, who at that moment was going for his fast lap.

The Spanish driver, after missing out on direct access to Q2 in the third free practice session, managed to get through the Q1 trap with the best time, but the race will be uphill. Throughout the weekend Yamaha did not appear to be competitive and unless there is a miracle, it will be difficult to see an Iwata bike on the podium.

These are the words of Maverick Vinales: “I heard about the penalty, maybe I hindered him and the rules are rules. I start three positions back but it doesn't change much. I expect to be in the top ten tomorrow. In FP4 I found something positive, I was riding well, but I was only eighth, the bike needs to be improved. For tomorrow we have some ideas that will help us for the race, tomorrow in the warm up we will test and see. I hope to be able to finish fifth like in Misano. It's a difficult time. It's difficult to stay concerted and give your best. There are 5 or 6 races left and we have to try to stay there."
