Alvaro Bautista finishes the first day of free practice in Valencia with the 7th time, 6 tenths of a second behind Marc Marquez. At the end of the day the indications were positive and will certainly help to improve the feeling with the bike. The gap to the best is not unbridgeable and the Spaniard from Team Gresini will try to reduce it as much as possible.

“We have worked intensely since this morning to try to improve the grip on the rear which was not particularly good, also using a new shock absorber that Showa made available to us. There were some improvements but they were quite relative despite collecting a lot of information that will be useful to us tomorrow. We also did comparative tests with hard and soft tires and came to the conclusion that the hard gives more stability and allows you to travel further. We will continue to work to have more stability when braking and greater grip at the rear and make the right assessments for using the hard tire for the race.”
