The Australian Casey Stoner was the fastest in the warm up of the MotoGP class on the Estoril circuit, scene of the fourteenth round of the 2007 premier class motorcycling championship. The Ducati rider stopped the clock at a time of 1'37"495, the time obtained on his last lap (thirteen laps in total). Stoner placed behind Kawasaki's Frenchman Randy De Puniet who was 255 thousandths behind and John Hopkins on Team Rizla's Suzuki (+402 thousandths). Fourth time for poleman Nicky Hayden, the Team Honda Repsol rider (1'37"961) precedes teammate Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi from Pesaro. The Yamaha rider completed thirteen laps, setting his best time (1'38"134) on the twelfth lap.

Behind Rossi we find the Spaniard of Team LCR Carlos Checa, the Ravenna native of Team Gresini Marco Melandri, the Japanese Makoto Tamada and Loris Capirossi. Eleventh time for Alex Barros, the Brazilian from Team Pramac D'Antin precedes last edition's winner Toni Elias, the German Alex Hofmann and the Japanese from Honda Shinya Nakano. Fifteenth time for Sylvain Guintoli, the Frenchman from Team Yamaha Tech3 has also been announced as the next rider for Team Pramac D'Antin for the 2008 season.
