MotoGP – Estoril – Nakano finishes the race in 11th position
Shinya Nakano finished the Portuguese GP in eleventh position. The Japanese rider of Team Konica Minolta Honda finished with a gap from the winner Valentino Rossi of 45.403 and when there were 21 laps left to the end of the race he was in seventeenth position. Nakano then managed to recover and now hopes to do well in the next GP which will take place in Motegi.
“In one of the fast corners there were many riders, I was on the inside, but I was pushed back and lost some positions. We also had a small problem with the engine which disappeared when I started using a higher gear. From halfway through the race I was able to push harder, start to overtake some of my rivals and therefore have fun. The current settings are the best of the season so the positive thing we take from Estoril is that together with the Team we have found the right direction. Luckily we only have to wait a week before the Japanese Grand Prix where I hope I can get a good result for myself and the Team.”
