MotoGP – Estoril – Marco Melandri takes home a good fifth place

Excellent fifth place for Marco Melandri, who managed to get into the top five (his goal before the start of the race) despite the chattering problems reoccurring today too, having already affected his days of testing. However, the rider from Ravenna is certain that he gave his all, despite losing a lot in the final part of the circuit during the duels with Hayden and Hopkins, and is now looking confidently to the Motegi race. The word is up to him.

“The problems in practice also recurred in the race and an annoying chattering problem prevented me from riding as I would have liked. I had some good duels first with Nicky (Hayden) and then with John (Hopkins), in the first part of the track I was fast while I lost a lot in the last. As for the tyres, we had a rear that was a little too hard for today's track characteristics. However, I gave my best and I'm looking forward to Motegi with confidence."
