MotoGP – Estoril Day 1 – Kenny Roberts Jr sets the 3rd fastest time

Kenny Roberts Jr also confirmed in Portugal the validity of his father Kenny Roberts Sr's project. In Estoril, in fact, the American rider achieved the 3rd best time aboard the Honda-powered KR211V behind Casey Stoner and his compatriot and world championship leader Nicky Hayden. Also lending a hand to Roberts is the new chassis set up best in the post-Motegi tests.

“After the tests at the Japanese GP (where he and the Team deepened his knowledge of the new chassis) we simply improved. In the last 3 races we had problems in the slow corners and even if we didn't completely solve the problem we made progress. I knew that the bike would be better here and that I would be more competitive. We did a good job.”
