MotoGP: Ducati – Crutchlow together since 2014. Now it's official.MotoGP: Ducati – Crutchlow together since 2014. Now it's official.

The news had already been circulating since yesterday, all that was missing was the official status. And the Ducati press release didn't take long to arrive. Here is what the Borgo Panigale company declared:

Cal Crutchlow and Ducati together since 2014
Ducati has reached an agreement with British rider Cal Crutchlow that will see him participate in the MotoGP World Championship in 2014 and 2015 with the Ducati Team. Crutchlow will join Andrea Dovizioso next year. The British rider and the Italian, already teammates in 2012, will work together on the development and growth of the Ducati Desmosedici and the MotoGP project.

Crutchlow, 2009 World Supersport Champion and 2011 MotoGP Rookie of the Year, is having his best season ever in MotoGP, and right now sits fifth in the overall standings. The English driver reached the podium four times in the first nine races of the season, and achieved his first pole position at the Assen circuit in the Netherlands.

The end of the 2013 season will also coincide with the end of the five-year relationship between Nicky Hayden and the Ducati Team. Ducati would like to thank Nicky for his great commitment during this period: the whole team and Ducati Corse will give their full support to him and Dovizioso to conclude the second part of the season in the best possible way.

This is the first opportunity as an official rider for the former Supersport world champion who is doing excellent results with the Yamaha M1 of the Tech3 team, who will find Andrea Dovizioso at his side, who made the same decision last year.

        Can they afford it!!!???

It would have been better if he stayed where he is now, so he will spend 2 years seeing the podium through binoculars.
Of course he will earn a little more, but then? For a rider to always end up far away is not a good thing, in my opinion it would have been better if he stayed at Yamaha, maybe in a few years they would have given him Rossi's place.

In my opinion, the only thing Crutchlow can aim for is to get ahead of Dovizioso and Dovi has the same goal, that is, to get ahead of Crutchlow, their 2014 championship will practically be that...

I just hope that Cal (I've always liked him for that hint of madness he has in his body) adapts well to the Desmo...if you then go and look at the English speakers with Le Rosse they made a splash with those bikes.

in fact I read many exchanges on Twitter between CASEY and CAL.

  • bcs said:

    Good luck Cal!

Ps: I don't know why there is a common thought that Cal's driving is similar to Stoner's...
There is nothing more wrong than this... By his (Cal's) own admission, his driving is very similar to that of the 46, but distant from that of Lorenzo.

Anyway... I wanted him in Suzuki, too bad...

  • bcs said:

Well, some "experts" maintain that Hayden adapted to his teammate's performance...

Let's hope that's not the case with Cal.

  • light said:

While other experts disagree without saying anything else.
I've already said it, if you want to prove me wrong (so be it), at least have the decency to bring something that isn't just your empty words.

To see that what I wrote is true, it is sufficient to go to the official MotoGP website, review the American's performances over the years, compare them with his teammate and, those who watch without ham, will see who says the truth.

Hayden has never done anything more than his partner. Ergo, it adapts to the performance of those who are considered "first drivers" in the team

But no, it's true, Hayden won a world championship, for once he overtook his teammate...

    1. bcs said:

      Ahahahaha Yes of course…
I have already proven you wrong several times, it is simply useless to comment and discuss with you.
First you agree, then you let some time pass to rewrite the usual things.

PS “Your empty words” You go and write it to your friends.

      Hi ligera.

    2. bcs said:

      AHAHAHAH
Does a driver adapt to the performance of his teammate? ahahaha

A driver pushes to his maximum (where possible, I am referring to when there is not a certain job to do as in testing). He doesn't push based on how much his teammate pushes.

Ahahaha let's hope that Cal doesn't adapt to Dovi.... Let's hope instead that Ducati will adapt... But I see it as tough given the management.

        “” ””

And who ever wrote something like that? Of course, I'm the one who misunderstands, I don't read and whatnot.

In your opinion, I know that Hayden pushes as much as his teammate and nothing more? May I ask, please, where does this mentality come from if not from being prejudiced?

Hayden has never had an exploit, that's why I wrote that he "adapts" and you can see this very well by looking at the placings in past years.
But you "No", God forbid, certainly He has the presumption to know that Hayden doesn't put in much effort.

Only in bad faith can one accuse someone of having enough presumption to know what a pilot does in his heart.

If you want to continue leading her to absurd conclusions, go ahead.

obviously it was NOT referring to bcs.

better to specify here, given the "brains" that are going around...

  • lucathemod said:

I don't understand what Crutchlow could have about reds... well!

    1. bcs said:

I was referring to the driving style.
Most people see Cal as an aggressive driver, with a bit of a Stoner style of driving (to give you an idea).
This is perhaps due to his character off the track, but this is not the case.

Cal has stated several times (and you can also see it on TV) that his riding is very similar to that of Valentino...

A far cry from the driving style that most people attribute to him.

    2. Mugello said:

      nothing and let me explain:
he doesn't have his Uncle behind him
      never had rubbers
      never complained about anything
he has no bird behind him

etc. etc. so nothing in common.

  • lucathemod said:

not quite like Stoner, but he is certainly not someone who "brushes corners", on the contrary, he has a very instinctive and "discomposed" driving style. And when I say "decomposed" I use the term to say with determination

  • light said:

You should be happy considering that Yamaha is starting to "brush" your best friend

  • lucathemod said:

However, I wish him good luck... and best wishes for this step forward in his career. someone like him could no longer stay on a satellite team!

  • light said:

But look at how many people he's pissing off.

    1. lucathemod said:

In what sense? ... what do you think of the Cal Ducati combination?

      1. light said:

I think that many "yellow" fans denigrate the move only because of the position taken (as anti-Ducati)

Cal is proving to be a driver with above average qualities.
I don't know how one can approach Ducati, but I don't think that in this technical situation he can do much more than what the current riders are doing.

  • Micky79 said:

Another driver who will ruin his career… bah…

so are the reds in yamaha ruining it too?????since they aren't even winning them?!!!…..

    2. W_il_Sic said:

From the direction his comments have taken I think that either Gigetto or Mugello have taken possession of TONYKART's body...
because at the beginning TONY, when he was him, only spoke about technical things and often even with good knowledge of the facts.
Now Gigeetto or Mugello writes from his nickname:
GET OUT OF THIS COOOOOR! UNFORGETTABLE CREATURES!

as you see the world reads you and judges you: have I personally insulted you by calling you an idiot?? I think so, of course, and even worse than that, but I certainly don't write it.
You, on the other hand, from the height of what human baseness do you allow yourself and allow yourself to call me an idiot?

This is you lily of the valley…a poor guy.

  • Mugello said:

    1. W_il_Sic said:

coming from you, it matters, you are decerebrate/acephalous, and therefore you have no elements to judge.

      it's as if in your head there was a single micro (very micro) chip in which 2 or 3 nasty insults to pilots and, above all, forum users were stored;
and then your fingers on the keyboard repeats them endlessly in a cacophonous loop without sound and – above all – without value.

You are a clone, an unsuccessful one, of a bipedal terrestrial animal... but closer to the chicken than to man, in terms of neuronal value, but much more USELESS than a chicken, because in the end you can even eat the chicken, you turn out to be " indigestible” even on a virtual level.

      USELESS personified.

    2. W_il_Sic said:

and a USELESS person, on the scale of values, is STILL ranked much later than an idiot... he comes last!
