Immediately after the Spanish Grand Prix, the official Ducati riders Andrea Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden took to the track for two days of testing at Mugello, where the Italian Grand Prix will take place on June 2nd. The driver from Forlì completed 42 laps yesterday and 54 today, while the American 29 yesterday and 60 on Thursday. Also on track with the Desmosedici GP12 “lab” was the test team with Michele Pirro, who we remind you will also replace Ben Spies at Le Mans.

“It was an interesting day and a half because there are really good conditions to try the race. It wasn't cold, in fact it was very hot and the temperature this afternoon was similar to how it is in the race here normally, so the real race conditions – said Andrea Dovizioso – Ducati Team (96 laps) – The times are not bad , but we have to improve our pace, even if it's difficult to talk about time because we didn't have any references. I think this track suits the characteristics of Ducati better.”

“I wasn't sure about my physical condition, but my wrist bothered me less here than in Jerez. We didn't do many laps, but for the first time in a long time, we had good weather conditions here at Mugello – added Nicky Hayden – Ducati Team (89 laps) – We were able to work on the chassis and the geometries, the solutions we wanted to try to the first three races, as well as some changes to the electronic package. However, we don't know what our race pace will be like until we get here in a few weeks. I thank the team, because it must be really tiring for them to do an entire race weekend, a post-race test, and then dismantling and reassembling everything to do another day and a half in another country. We hope it will help make the Italian fans proud when we come back here for the race.”
