For the English Grand Prix, Toni Elias was hoping for a good result at least in the race, but the Spaniard was unable to implement the comeback he had hoped for due to the tyres, which today seemed unwilling to reach temperatures and give him the necessary grip. On top of this, a braking problem also complicated things for him which caused many of him to lag behind. Luckily for him, at the end of the race the track dried out, allowing him to regain feeling and lap fast, so much so that he set the fastest lap. He has the microphone.

“It was a difficult weekend and we didn't finish as we had hoped. In the race I struggled a lot because the tires weren't up to temperature and I had no grip. I had a problem braking and went wide several times. This made me lose time and I couldn't start the comeback, as I would have liked. When the track dried, I found a good feeling again and I also set the track record. The positive thing is that we have collected a lot of information on wet conditions to use with Bridgestone to resolve the difficulties that afflicted us over the weekend.”
