MotoGP Brno, Race: Marquez dominates, Rossi 4th in comeback
Honda one-two with Marquez and Pedrosa, a mistake from the garage condemns Rossi
GP Czech Republic MotoGP Race – Marc Marquez won the MotoGP class Czech Republic Grand Prix, held flag-to-flag.
The race, which started out wet, then saw the track dry out and the world leader was the quickest to take advantage of it, the first to return to the pits to change bikes and take the one with slicks. For Marquez, this is the third victory of the season, the second in a row, the #32 in MotoGP, the #58 in his career.
In a few sectors and thanks to the unfortunate choice of Valentino Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso, who returned two laps after the Spaniard and one lap after the others, Marquez took off, going on to win by a wide margin ahead of his teammate Dani Pedrosa and his compatriot of Yamaha Maverick Vinales.
Rossi managed to grab fourth place after a great comeback, but now the gap behind Marquez in the world rankings is 22 points (the Spaniard has 154 points against Rossi's 132). Also ahead of the Pesaro in the standings is team-mate Maverick Vinales with 140 points and Andrea Dovizioso, sixth at the finish line and with 133 points in the standings.
A missed opportunity for both Yamaha and Ducati, with Rossi and Dovizioso who inexplicably did not return to the pits while everyone else did.
Now we go to Austria, Marquez's pursuers can no longer make mistakes, we are in the decisive phase of the championship and mistakes like those made today are no longer allowed.
