GP Austria MotoGP Qualifying – Marc Marquez wins the pole position of the Austrian Grand Prix, eleventh stage of the 2017 MotoGP.

The world championship leader achieved it with a time of 1:23.235 ahead of the official Ducatis of Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo, 0.144s and 0.386s behind respectively, who complete the front row of the grid.

Maverick Vinales took the Yamaha M1 Factory to fourth position, ahead of the Ducati of a great Danilo Petrucci, riding the GP17 of Team Pramac and the M1 Sat of Team Tech 3 of Johann Zarco.

Valentino Rossi did not go beyond the seventh fastest time and will therefore open the third row. The Yamaha rider from Pesaro suffers a gap from the top of 0.747s and precedes the Hondas of Dani Pedrosa and Cal Crutchlow.

Fourth row for Andrea Iannone on Suzuki and for the Ducatis of Karel Abraham and Loriz Baz. For Marc Marquez it is the fifth pole of the season, the #42 in MotoGP, the #70 in his career.

Just over five minutes to go, Marquez is ahead of Dovizioso, Vinales, Rossi, Petrucci, Lorenzo, Abraham, Iannone, Pedrosa and Baz, Zarco and Crutchlow.

Dovizioso goes strong (with the medium tire on the rear), moving into second place, 0.340s behind Marquez.

Marquez leads the provisional standings ahead of Vinales, Rossi and Dovizioso.
