The Spaniard from the Repsol Honda Team sets the best time in Austin

Dani Pedrosa achieved the best time of the third free practice session of the MotoGP class in Austin, the scene of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, second stage of the 2013 world championship. The Spanish Honda rider stole it from his team-mate Marc Marquez right at the end of the session, preceding the Honda rookie by a good 387 thousandths.

Marquez had a "strange" session. In fact, Ready Off was the victim of a bad high-side, with his Honda which once lost grip at the front end, then regained grip at the rear, throwing the Team Repsol rider into the air. Returning to the pits in pain, he "mounted" the second bike and immediately set the best time, a time which was then improved at the end by Pedrosa.

Third time for the reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo, who limits the damage to within 887 thousandths of his compatriot from Honda. The Majorcan who did not hold back and even risked falling during the session preceded his brand mate Cal Crutchlow, riding the M1 SAT of Team Tech 3 and the Honda RC213V of Stefan Bradl's Team LCR.

Good performance by Andrea Dovizioso, who finished sixth, bringing his Ducati ahead of Valentino Rossi's Yamaha M1 Factory. The nine-time world champion from Yamaha finished 1.765 from the top, a fairly heavy gap especially if seen from a "Lorenzo" perspective. The Doctor taught us, however, that he manages to bring out the best in the race and FP4 and above all qualifying are still missing, which in Qatar saw him in difficulty, only to then be reborn in the race, where he finished second behind Lorenzo and in front to Marquez.

Alvaro Bautista also closes the Top Ten and therefore goes directly to Q2 with the Honda RC213V of Team Gresini and the Ducatis of Americans Nicky Hayden and Ben Spies. However, Andrea Iannone remains out and his access to Q1 will be played out in Q2, which will also see the best two from Q2 at the start.

great effort by Dorna to bring its driver to the top, see a Ducati in front of
scrotino has NO price for everything else there is UNCLEOOOO.

the unofficial excuse is: for the first time Uccio is not with him and therefore he suffers psychologically.

...be careful when talking about suffering...in the forum we have various experts who might get angry...you have to learn to write: "the stretcher bearer will win by detachment"...and find your smile again!!!

I'm happy that Dani put Marc behind him..ok the newcomer is strong..very strong..but to hear him talk he seems like a demigod..he finished third on his debut..despite qualifying behind..wonderful..but it's still on an HRC Repsol...Stoner took pole on his debut with a satellite bike...and no one remembers it...the fact is that Stoner exploded in the premier class while Marc devoured titles and dominated lower categories...but I remain it always seems that he must win first in the MotoGP (title) to be like Rossi, Dani, Jorge... to be compared to Stoner instead he must win on the Ducati...
Anyway this will be a beautiful and exciting season... it's a shame about the Australian's passing but the values on the field are very high anyway... I'm a Ducati supporter but I'd be happy if the title goes to Dani because I think he has the ability... and in the past he was unlucky with injuries...but he had a top second half of the 2012 season and even though Marc is a tough nut to crack, together with Jorge, I hope he can get the better of it...
PS Great Dovizioso....but I can't help but think what Casey would do on the current Ducati given that in the fastest lap Andrea is on par with Rossi...at least from what we've seen so far...
