MotoGP Austin 2015 – The second free practice session of the American Grand Prix, which is taking place on the Austin circuit, saw Marc Marquez finish at the top. The reigning Honda champion, winner of the first two editions of this Grand Prix, stopped the clock at a time of 2:04.835.

The Spaniard got the better of teammate Cal Crutchlow, 0.327s behind. Our Andrea Iannone recovered compared to Free Practice 1, bringing the new Ducati GP15 to third place, 0.355s from the top.

The rider from Vasto preceded the Suzuki of Spaniard Aleix Espargarò and team-mate Andrea Dovizioso, the fastest in the first free practice session. “Dovi” preceded Valentino Rossi, riding the Yamaha.

The nine-time world champion, who has a gap from the top of 0.856s, preceded his brand mate Pol Espargarò and an excellent Stefan Bradl, riding the Forward Racing Yamaha Open. The Top Ten is closed by the Ducati of Colombian Yonny Hernandez and the Yamaha of Bradley Smith's Team Tech 3.

Session to forget for four-time world champion Jorge Lorenzo. The Majorcan did not go beyond the eleventh time and if tomorrow, as it seems, the weather is negative, he would be forced to compete in Q1 to access Q2. Lorenzo is followed by the Honda Factory of the British Scott Redding and the Team Pramac rider from Terni, Danilo Petrucci, who is very fast in the wet.

Suzuki rookie Maverick Vinales achieved the fifteenth time, immediately ahead of the Honda of the Japanese Hiroshi Aoyama, who here replaces Dani Pedrosa, who underwent surgery on his right forearm after the Qatar Grand Prix and who could return to the track in Jerez, on the occasion of the first European GP of the season.

Aprilia placed Spaniard Alvaro Bautista in seventeenth position, while Marco Melandri from Ravenna was twenty-fourth, ahead of Alex de Angelis from San Marino, riding the Iodaracing ART.
