Qualifying in Austin was very difficult for Danilo Petrucci. The Iodaracing rider from Terni in fact finished in the rear and was slowed down once again by ART's lack of confidence with the new unique Marelli control unit. Even the choice of tires didn't turn out to be the best, let him have the say.

“Maybe I made a mistake in choosing the front tyre, too soft, but racing like that is really difficult. We continue to have a lot of problems setting up the bike and it made no sense to risk more than necessary, it would have been useless and dangerous. Last year we broke in the race, this year at least I expect to reach the finish line. I don't like starting from the last row, but I'll do my best anyway.”

I've been writing this for a while, but in my opinion Petrucci is too underrated a rider.
He deserves so much more. Let's hope that next year I can find a more competitive saddle.
