A few days before the world championship GP, the Texan becomes COTA Ambassador
Peace made between Kevin Schwantz and the Circuit of the American, the COTA of Austin. The Texan driver, 500 class world champion in 1993, will be an ambassador and will also help the Marco Simoncelli Foundation. And to think that a year ago he was even denied entry and a new one was born legal dispute, which was supposed to continue in a few days.
“I'm happy to be an ambassador for COTA two-wheel racing, especially since the 2014 MotoGP season has just begun and will return to Texas in a few days. Grand prix bikes have been my life, and it's exciting to help COTA (Circuit of the Americas), the next stop in the world championship.”
“Kevin is a great champion and this agreement gives us the opportunity to have his help – said president Bobby Epstein – We have always wanted Kevin to be part of COTA and I am happy that this is now a reality.”
The figure of Schwantz as ambassador will also help the Marco Simoncelli Foundation, which will receive one dollar for each ticket sold and considering the large influx of public last year (over 130.00 people over the 3 days) this is great news. Among other things, Kevin was a great friend of the SIC and this honors him even more.
