Aleix Espargarò finished the Italian Grand Prix held at Mugello in ninth position. The Spaniard, like his team-mate Colin Edwards, had problems with the electronics of his Yamaha Open, but still confirmed himself as the best rider in the category. The word is up to him.

“It was a difficult race. We struggled all weekend with the electronics and today in particular a problem with the traction control held me back. I couldn't push and control the bike as I would have liked, so I preferred to defend my position and get to the finish line collecting as many points as possible. We need to continue working on the electronics to be able to take a step forward and be fast again for the next race, my home Grand Prix in Catalunya.”

His teammate instead ran with a different chassis. “The positive thing is that we managed to cross the finish line after suffering fuel problems throughout the start of the season – added Colin Edwards – I'm satisfied with this, but we need to work on the electronics because today we struggled a lot to a traction control problem. In any case, this weekend we managed to fully test the new chassis. We need to continue working on the electronics set-up in view of the next race.”
