Dutch GP MotoGP Preview – After the week of stoppage, the MotoGP returns to the track, and it does so in the Cathedral for the Dutch Grand Prix.

The Catalan GP gave us Andrea Dovizioso's second consecutive victory, thanks to which he reached second place in the standings, just seven points behind Maverick Vinales. This will be the real test for Ducati and, obviously, also for Jorge Lorenzo, without victories. Unlike the two previous tracks, in fact, the Red team did not carry out any tests here. We'll see if it was the tests prior to the races (Mugello and Barcelona) that upset the balance or if it was all thanks to the Borgo Panigale engineers.

Maverick Vinales maintains the lead in the standings, with difficulty; returning from one of the most difficult races of the season. The Spaniard from Yamaha in fact finished the Catalan GP in tenth place, also behind teammate Valentino Rossi. For both the difficulties and problems were evident, but with the tests following the race and the new chassis used on that occasion, things should change; or rather, they absolutely must change.

The bikes from the house of the three tuning forks are not the only ones in difficulty, in fact, even Honda certainly cannot sleep peacefully. The swing in performance, beyond the results, does not allow Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa to constantly fight for important points. The difficulties, it seems, are mainly from an electronic point of view. They will have to be resolved to allow Marc and Dani to fight for the title, but the latest tests do not seem to have been useful to the Honda team, which has not brought any important updates to the track.

Dutch GP weather

As usual, in Assen, rainfall is forecast for the entire weekend. Rain is currently forecast for Friday from the morning, while on Saturday conditions should improve slightly. Sunday's race will almost certainly be wet.

Dutch GP info
The Assen circuit measures 4.5 km and has 6 left-hand corners and 12 right-hand corners. The track is a milestone of the MotoGP, even if compared to its first edition, which was raced on roads open to traffic, over the years it has changed face several times, losing the characteristic points that earned it the name of Motorcycle University. On this track, among active riders, the record for victories in the premier class belongs to Valentino Rossi, with 7. Last year the Dutch race was a real ordeal, with rain and red flags. In the end, with the rider from Tavullia and Andrea Dovizioso knocked out, Jack Miller won for the first time in his career.
The circuit record belongs to Marc Marquez, who in 2015 stopped the clock at 1'33.617, while the best pole belongs to Valentino Rossi who, in the same year, started from first place thanks to a time of 1'32.627.
