Gp Assen MotoGP Honda HRC Day 1 – Marc Marquez finished third on the first day of free practice at the Assen circuit. The reigning world champion finished more than 6 tenths from the top, but on the other hand the day was positive.

In the first free practice session the driver from Cervera concentrated on race pace, while in the afternoon he attempted to attack the weather before it started to rain. There is still a lot of work to do in the Repsol Honda garage and the weather conditions forecast for tomorrow could slow everything down.

These are the words of Marc Marquez: “With the wind, the conditions were quite difficult today, but in the end I'm quite happy with how it went. This morning we worked a little more on the race pace, while in the afternoon, when some drops started to fall, we almost immediately went for an attack on the time. In the end we had a good session, but our rivals are still ahead of us. However, I think we are working in the right direction with the set-up of the bike and we just need, to continue in this way, to improve the stability of the bike and the rear grip, we have some margins and we will do our best to be more fast."
