Cal Crutchlow he closed the first day of free practice with the 2nd time, 3 tenths behind Jorge Lorenzo. The rider of the Monster Tech3 team he immediately felt at ease with his M1 satellite, both in dry and wet conditions and therefore he is very confident for the race the day after tomorrow. In the second session he finished further behind the leaders but in his opinion this result arrived because at the end of the session he preferred to return to the pits rather than risk a bad fall to improve his time.

“I'm really happy with how today went – Cal Crutchlow said – this morning in the dry I finished in 2nd place, even though I have to try to improve especially in the first sector because the gap I had with Lorenzo there was too high. In reality, everyone in that sector had a big gap from Lorenzo who was really doing an incredible job. It's really a shame that he got injured in the second session, I hope he gets back to racing as soon as possible because the championship is not the same without him. However, with the rain this afternoon I felt really good and was one of the fastest. At the end of the session I didn't want to risk too much and so I returned to the garage, thus losing some positions. If I ran again I'm sure I would have finished in the top three once again, but again I'm sure of my pace in both conditions."
