MotoGP 2015 GP Assen – Dani Pedrosa achieved the best time in the second free practice session of the Dutch Grand Prix, eighth race of the 2015 world championship, which as usual will take place on Saturday.

The Honda rider stopped the clock at a time of 1'33"450, less than the record set by Marc Marquez last year (1'33"462). Behind him, 0.139s behind, we find the reigning champion Marc Marquez, who also made a few too many mistakes in the afternoon session.

Two Hondas therefore in the lead and ahead of Valentino Rossi's Yamaha. After setting the best time in Free Practice 1, the champion from Pesaro finished 0202s from the top, ahead of Andrea Iannone's Ducati by just 47 thousandths, a clear recovery compared to FP1.

Jorge Lorenzo is sixth, behind the Honda of the British Cal Crutchlow and ahead of the Ducati of Andrea Dovizioso, seventh with the second Desmosedici GP15. The Majorcan pays a gap from Pedrosa of 0.291s.

Aleix Espargarò with Suzuki is eighth and ahead of Danilo Petrucci, rider of the Pramac Ducati Team, who rides last year's bike (GP14). The Top Ten is closed by Suzuki rookie Maverick Vinales, followed by compatriot Pol Espargarò and Colombian Yonny Hernandez. Alvaro Bautista with the first Aprilia is nineteenth, while Alex de Angelis (ART Iodaracing) and Marco Melandri close the time rankings like this morning.

Well it seems to me that Rossi and Lorenzo are not behaving too intelligently.

Pedrosa has already been going strong on his own since this morning, I don't think there is any need to tow Marquez for several laps and make him part of the fight for victory...

Already this morning Marquez was glued to Smith, today after a long run at the first corner he awaited the train of Rossi and Vinales.

Then he overtook Vinales and took advantage of Rossi's reference which, despite the fact that he wasn't doing a super lap, really helped him as he set the time at the start of the session which he then never adjusted even at the end where he still made mistakes. So it means that today he was in difficulty compared to Rossi, Lorenzo and Pedrosa, and there is no point in doing him these favors...

Then Lorenzo started to tow Marquez, even though they told him he was behind him, it took him a while before he gave up and let him pass...

If they want to stay calm during the race, it's better not to have him around and not to give him a hand.

Also because they are all very close for Q2, you can end up in eighth or ninth position, like nothing if you trail someone, and they have already trailed several riders today. I think Iannone was also in Rossi's wake at the end of the round.

Already Rossi is not the fastest in qualifying, he should be the one to stick to the fastest, not trail Marquez or the Ducatis and Suzukis who already have the choice of soft tires for qualifying...

For the rest, it is difficult to draw conclusions on the race pace, they are working differently than usual, perhaps due to the uncertainty of the weather, they are all very fast, but it is not known for how many laps with the average on the rear.
