MotoGP 2015 GP Assen – Valentino Rossi started the weekend of the Dutch Grand Prix in the best possible way, the eighth stage of the 2015 world championship which will take place on Saturday on the historic Assen track.

The nine-time world champion in fact achieved the best time with a time of 1'34"357, going 0.195 ahead of the reigning champion Marc Marquez, who immediately crashed, fortunately without consequences. It's been a long time since Rossi started like this and it should be underlined that he really likes this track and the results obtained in his career bear witness to this (six victories in the premier class, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2013, one in 250cc , 1998 and one in the 125cc class, 1997.) Rossi as well as Lorenzo hit the track with two different bikes, one with the chassis used up until Barcelona and the other with the one successfully tested in Aragon.

Dani Pedrosa also did well, third with the second Honda of Team Repsol. The #26 lapped in 1'34"570, putting himself ahead of his compatriot Jorge Lorenzo, winner of the last four races and always nice to see with his "clean" trajectories.

Fifth time for the Yamaha of Spaniard Pol Espargarò, sixth for his team-mate Bradley Smith, seventh and eighth for the Suzukis of Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargarò.

Ducati is in more difficulty than expected, placing Andrea Dovizioso in ninth position, ahead of the excellent Danilo Petrucci (read our interview here), who, unlike the Forlì native, leads last year's GP14. Andrea Iannone is actually thirteenth, behind rookie Jack Miller (riding the Honda Open) and Cal Crutchlow (Honda Factory).

The best Aprilia is that of Alvaro Bautista, twentieth at 1.893, while Alex de Angelis (ART Iodaracing) and Marco Melandri (Aprilia) close the list of times.

Rossi and Lorenzo set the times without reference, Pedrosa had De Angelis in front, but in the end he only slowed him down, I think that on the flying lap he remains the fastest, he was the one in the lead for some time before Marquez beat him but with the references from Smith and a Ducati from a satellite team in front.

Without Yamaha's reference, Marquez would hardly have improved T3 where he lost a lot. I also believe that due to the crash at the start of the session which occurred in T1 on the opening lap, it cost him something in terms of confidence.

However, the Hondas remain very fast in T2, so for now they are there.

Lorenzo seemed a little slower than the others who went faster on average than last year.
maybe Lorenzo didn't put a new tire on at the end of the session though.

However, Rossi showed great consistency in his pace, but we need to understand whether it was a qualifying test, or an end-of-race test, or a start-of-race test. He did several laps at very fast times, perhaps it was training for Q2 in which he said that he can't give his best in just 2 laps, here in fact he did 4, improving a little but very little until the last lap. In qualifying he won't be able to do this due to time constraints and because the tires will drop, and he has to go 1 second faster to aim for the front row. If it was a pace test, however, it would already be very good for the race given that the top 3 have already beaten the race pace lap record from last season. However, if both Hondas are there it means that both bikes can still improve something in every sector, and especially in those in which they lose the most over each other. For now the weather has been clement and sunny, we need to understand if it will hold for the next 2 days.

They continue to give uncertain forecasts for Saturday.

all these mental seeegh@ to say what? 30 lines to say what? Nothing! It's only fp1, there's no point making assumptions now..

Already all mental saws... in fact Pedrosa had the best ideal lap in the morning and with a clear road ahead in the afternoon he made the best time... obviously all suppositions...

The lines on my screen are 17, but I suppose they can also decrease if the resolution increases...

Maybe you read the comments from a screen that's too small or you can't count ;)

Durim no one is forcing you to read them and comment on them, I'll say my opinion if you don't like your shit I'll continue to say my opinion ;) just like you can continue to bring it up... if you like using your time like that rather than writing something useful as a comment on the FP1…
