MotoGP | Argentina, QP: Marquez, “We managed to do a great lap”

Argentina GP, Honda Racing – Despite the terrible conditions of the Termas de Rio Hondo asphalt, Marc Marquez managed to conquer the pole position of the Argentine Grand Prix, the second round of the 2017 MotoGP world championship. The Spaniard made the most of the potential of his Honda, overtaking a surprising Karel Abraham with the old Ducati GP16. This is the first pole of the season for the reigning World Champion.

Here are the words of Marc Marquez: “Despite the slippery track and the rain that fell during FP4, the sensations today were quite good. We managed to do a great lap and pole rewards us for the great work done on the bike yesterday. These conditions are always difficult to interpret, but the rain certainly mixed the cards, helping us. I thought about dry tyre, but it was too risky to use it. I'm happy to start from the front row, but there's no rain forecast for tomorrow and so the race is a whole different story. The objective will be to compete for the podium."
