The Suzuki rider, after his best performance yesterday, tried to fight for pole, but against a stratospheric Marquez he had to "settle" for second place, an exceptional result for the Hamamatsu manufacturer. “When I saw P2 after giving my all with the second tire I thought it was a mistake! And instead I was half a second behind Marc (Marquez, ed.). I also tried to push with the third tyre, but I made some mistakes. On the one hand I'm disappointed, but on the other I'm happy, I see that the team is satisfied. Our bike is slower, but as I already said in Suzuki they are working, so tomorrow I will try to fight for the top positions."
Speaking about the tires available and the fact that the Factory ones also have an extra-hard tyre, he added.
“I don't think Marc is going to give me extra-hard! (joking, ed.). The compound we had today is the one we will use in the race, but what worries us is the chattering we had in the first two races. We don't have the pace of Vale, Jorge or Marc, but we're not that far away. The goal for tomorrow is the Top Six.”
