MotoGP Aragon: Jorge Lorenzo “Tomorrow will be a good race, it's a shame to have lost pole”
Only ten thousandths separate the reigning Yamaha champion from world championship leader Marc Marquez
Losing pole position is never "nice", it is even less so if the gap from the first is only 10 thousandths. It happened today in Aragon to Jorge Lorenzo, who finished behind his compatriot and world championship leader Marc Marquez. However, the reigning champion is confident in terms of the race, so he has the say.
“I knew I had a good lap and hoped to be in first position, but I knew the other riders would be very close or ahead of me. Then by just 10 thousandths I finished second. I did my best, but I made a mistake in the first corner and lost one or two tenths, so I lost pole position. It's one thing to do a fast lap, it's another to do fast laps throughout the race, but before qualifying we found something more for the pace, so we are stronger both on the single lap and on the race pace. If the weather stays like it has in these two days it will be a good race.”
