Andrea Dovizioso MotoGP 2016 Aragon Team Ducati – Andrea Dovizioso finished the first day of testing for the Aragon Grand Prix in the Top Ten, the fourteenth stage of the 2016 world championship. The Ducati rider talked about the first day of testing, with him speaking.

“It was a particular day, this afternoon there was less grip than this morning and I think this took everyone by surprise. It's a problem that didn't allow us to work at our best and that needs to be resolved at setup level. Ours is a bike that works better when there is more grip, so we need to improve this aspect.”

Is it just a question of tires?

“This is a characteristic of Aragon, but to understand better we need to analyze the data. The tires seem harder, we need to understand if there will be a wear problem."

Looking ahead to FP3, are you worried about the tenth time?

“It may not be easy to finish in the top ten given the gaps. We need a good lap, but at the moment this doesn't worry me, we first need to work and improve the bike."

There seems to be a Honda supremacy, how do you explain it?

“The Honda is a bike that "slides" more and especially in the first rounds they have an advantage on the circuit where there is little grip. This could be one of the explanations.”

Michelin is constantly evolving, how are things changing for you in this respect?

“Michelin is trying to arrive at a good basis for all motorcycles and therefore it is "normal" that there is continuous evolution. This doesn't make our job any easier, it's not nice from our side, but on the other Michelin is doing its utmost to improve aspects that it recognizes are not at their best, especially compared to what we were used to. It's certainly a strange championship, with conditional results, but it's like that for everyone, whoever is better at adapting is faster."
