Andrea Iannone MotoGP 2016 Brno Team Ducati – Four days after his victory at the Red Bull Ring, Andrea Iannone returned to talk about the success obtained in Austria, a success that Ducati had lacked since 2010, when Casey Stoner won at Phillip Island. Here's what Iannone said.

How do you feel four days after your first MotoGP victory?

“I feel very good, I think like never before. I am very happy to be back on track and happy with last Sunday's result, a great result after many sacrifices and hard work. We managed to bring Ducati back to victory, it was a goal of mine, after four years of work."

What feelings did you have in the days following the victory, has anything changed?

“You always think about victory, but when it hasn't come for a while you know it's never easy, especially in MotoGP. I never gave up and the hard work paid off, I had proof of that."

In your heart do you think you can repeat the Austrian victory?

“In Austria we had very high potential, many including you considered us favourites, but it's never easy. There are some races where we are quite competitive and we could be competitive here too, but the Austrian track enhanced our characteristics. There we were able to work on the details and this made the difference. Here we will try to grow further, the goal is to be with the best, we will try. Last year we did quite well.”

Petrucci said that there is a big engine difference between the GP15 and the GP16, is that right?

“I'm having a hard time answering, we need to analyze many things. The electronics have changed and even the wheelie makes you lose a lot in terms of speed. For example, in Austria, by removing the lower wings, I accelerated much less than Dovizioso, there are many determining factors. Many times in MotoGP the details make the difference, but I don't think there is that much of a gap between the GP15 and the GP16, I think 4/5 horsepower at most."

What did winning mean to you knowing that you will be leaving at the end of the year?

“I would have been really sad to leave Ducati without having achieved a great result. I debuted in MotoGP with them and it was important to share this result with them. It was therefore inevitable to dedicate the victory to the team, to all the boys and to all those who were close to me."
