MotoGP: Lorenzo thinks about Laguna Seca, there would be the OK from the doctors

Technically the fracture has healed, but is it worth the risk again?

Jorge Lorenzo could race at Laguna Seca, this after he fell in free practice at Sachsenring after a high-side at turn ten, bending the titanium plate inserted on his left collarbone after the fall at Assen. The Spaniard had been operated on again, this time with a plate with 11 screws, compared to 8 in the previous operation. The final decision will be up to the Majorcan, given that the doctors seem to have given the OK.

The decision should be made in the next 24 hours, even if in reality the doctors have "advised" the reigning champion against taking to the track. Technically, in fact, the operation was successful and there should be no problems driving, but a new fall could have "devastating" effects.

Lorenzo was visited at Catalunya General Hospital by DR. Marc Culle, who commented as reported by MotoGP.com: “His wound is healing well and everything seems normal. The plate we inserted is well positioned and we are pleased with the progress the wound is making. Jorge is physically able to ride again now, just like he did in Assen right after his leaky surgery.

“However, our advice is to be cautious and avoid the risk of another accident, but the decision on when to return is entirely up to him and I assume he will make that decision as soon as possible.”
