GP Portugal MotoGP 2024 Ducati – Pecco Bagnaia was dominating the Sprint Race of the Portuguese Grand Prix, when with four laps to go he made a mistake that relegated him to fourth position.

The Ducati #1 paid for the weight of the bike due to the lower quantity of petrol and in a moment of distraction he lost control of his Desmosedici GP 24 by going wide at the first braking point after the finish line.

Here's what he said to Sky Sport's microphones where he underlined how he made a "chapel".

“I was managing everything very well, it was a similar race to the one in Qatar in terms of feeling and management but I didn't take into account the fuel which was getting lighter. When I got to that point I lost the rear, the bike flagged and to avoid falling I lost positions. Then I rode just to get the bike to the finish line. I made an error of judgment. Tomorrow's race will be very different with a tire that I like better. Unfortunately these things happen. We improved the feeling so much so that after a long time I was explosive in the Sprint, but we have a bit of a shaky back and we will have to work on this. I'm 'pissed off' about the performance I did, but in the end I'm still leading the Championship.”
