MotoGP GP Argentina Free Practice 2 – From this season the FP2s of the MotoGP class have become crucial for direct access to Q2 and also in Argentina, on the Termas de Rio Hondo track we witnessed a very hard-fought Free Practice 2.

The fastest was Aleix Espargarò who, on the track where he achieved Aprilia's only victory in the MotoGP class last year, set a best lap of 1:38.518, a time 0.162s better than that of team-mate Maverick Vinales , the fastest of FP1.

Third and fourth times for the Ducati Desmosedici of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team of Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini, followed by three other Desmosedicis, that of the Frenchman Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing), that of the reigning champion and winner of the first race held in Portimao last week, Pecco Bagnaia and that of Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing).

The first non-European bike is the Honda of Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami, eighth and ahead of a revived Franco Morbidelli, the only Yamaha to directly access Q2, while his team-mate Fabio Quartararo, 2021 world champion of the Top Class, only finished 14th. Alex Rins instead entered the ten, with the second Honda of Team LCR.

Besides Quartararo, among others, Alex Marquez (Ducati Gresini), Brad Binder (KTM Factory), Joan Mir (Honda Factory), Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Gresini), the KTMs of Jack Miller and Augusto Fernandez will have to pass through the Q1 trap. (Team GASGAS) and Raul Fernandez's Aprilia RNF.
