MotoGP GP Malaysia Repsol Honda – Marc Marquez achieved the third fastest time on the first day of testing for the Malaysian Grand Prix, the 18th round of the 2022 MotoGP scheduled for Sunday at the SIC, Sepang International Circuit.

The Honda rider closed FP1 0.144s behind leader Brad Binder, while in FP2 he took no risks given the "mixed" wet/dry track, finishing 15th. Here's what he said to Sky Sport MotoGP.

Marc Marquez Statements Day1 Malaysian GP Sepang MotoGP 2022

“I'm happy with third place, but at the moment I don't have a good feeling. In FP1 we put the soft tire because this is a circuit where there is always the risk of rain and therefore we made a good strategy. I didn't want to take risks in FP2 because it couldn't have been improved, if necessary I'll do it in qualifying. As I said, I still don't have a good feeling, neither in the wet nor in the dry. However, I know where we lose and where we need to work to improve. Physically this track demands a lot from all the riders, it will certainly help me not to have had to push myself in FP2.”
