MotoGP Italian GP Mugello Qualifying – Heart-pounding qualifying for the MotoGP class at Mugello, with the riders on track with slicks on a patchy asphalt and which had seen the red flag displayed at the start of Q2 due to Marc Marquez's crash.

The pole went to an amazing Fabio Di Giannantonio, who achieved the first pole in the Top Class on his eighth token and did it at Mugello, the temple of speed.

The Team Gresini rider, after passing Q1 with the best time, got the better of another rookie and fellow Ducati brand, Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team), trailing by just 88 thousandths, with the Roman rider which lapped in 1:46.156. Also on the front row is Luca Marini, with the second Ducati of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team, 0.171s off the top.

Fourth time and second row for another Ducati, that of Johann Zarco's Pramac Racing, which preceded the official Desmosedici of Francesco Bagnaia and the only Yamaha protagonist, that of the reigning champion Fabio Quartararo, who when it comes to pulling Claws out, never fails.

Aleix Espargarò will open the third row with the Aprilia, followed by the Hondas of Takaaki Nakagami and Pol Espargarò. Only tenth was Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing and winner at Le Mans, ed.), who preceded his brand mate Jorge Martin (Ducati Pramac) and an unrecognizable Marc Marquez, who finished 12th after the fall.

Michele Pirro, on the track with the Ducati "dressed" in Aruba Racing, finished 14th, Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia tester) 22nd, Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha Factory) 23rd and Andrea Dovizioso (Yamaha WithU RNF) last to close the field.

Worth noting are the penalties for Jorge Martin and Darryn Binder; the former was penalized by three positions for having obstructed another rider in FP3, while the latter was given a Long Lap Penalty for not slowing down and crashing with the yellow flag displayed in the same session.
