MotoGP Gp Americas Austin Free Practice 1 – The first free practice session of the MotoGP class in Austin, where the American Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, saw Marc Marquez return to the track.

The Honda rider remained in the pits and also missed the race in Argentina after the bad high-side that occurred in the warm up of the Indonesian Grand Prix. The #93 ran without problems, even if the "specter" of double vision still remains.

The fastest of this first round, held on a partially resurfaced track, was Alex Rins, who after having had to "park" the first bike on the side of the track, returned to the pits and with the second scored the best of 2:04.007.

Excellent second place for the Aprilia of Maverick Vinales, who is increasingly comfortable astride the RS-GP. The Spanish rider is just 9 thousandths behind his Suzuki compatriot and 0.422s ahead of the first Ducati, that of Australian Jack Miller.

Fourth time for the reigning champion Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha Factory), followed by Marc Marquez returning, by the latter's team-mate Pol Espargarò (who crashed without consequences, ed.), by the Ducati of Enea Bastianini's Team Gresini and by the Aprilia of winner of the Argentine Grand Prix, Aleix Espargarò.

Closing out the Top Ten are the Japanese from Team LCR Honda Takaaki Nakagami and the Frenchman from Team Ducati Pramac, Johann Zarco.

Pecco Bagnaia with the second official Ducati is thirteenth, ahead of his brand mate Jorge Martin. Sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth positions for Luca Marini (Ducati Mooney VR46 Racing Team), Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha Factory) and Andrea Dovizioso (Yamaha WithU RNF).

Rookie FP1 MotoGP GP Austin

The best rookie was Raul Fernandez (Team Tech 3) 19th, followed by Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) 20th, Remy Gardner (Team Tech 3) 21st, Darryn Binder (Yamaha WithU RNF) 22nd and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Gresini ) 24th.
