GP Catalunya Barcelona MotoGP 2022 – The MotoGP doesn't stop, we immediately return to the track in Montmeló, near Barcelona, for the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya, the ninth round of the 2022 season.

Originally built in 1991, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was reconfigured and resurfaced in 2018, with further changes made in 2020 to improve safety at Turn 10. With a length of 4.627m and a straight of 1.047m, the circuit features elevation changes in all of its six left-handers and eight right-handers, along with a highly abrasive surface and a wide, fast layout. These features make the track a favorite among drivers and fans, and it often offers exciting racing, along with a fantastic atmosphere.

As for the Michelin tyres, the riders will have three compounds available, soft, medium and hard on both the front and rear, with the front tires all symmetrical and all the rears asymmetrical, with a harder right side to handle the stress on the tires with the greatest number of turns in that direction.

In case of rain Michelin Power Rain with soft and medium compounds for both the front and rear, with the rears asymmetrical, with a harder right side like their slick counterparts, while the fronts will be symmetrical.

Statements Piero Taramasso, Director Two Wheels Michelin Motorsport GP Catalunya MotoGP 2022

“Last year, due to the safety changes made to Turn 10, the lap records were all new, but this year we hope to improve these times with our set of 2022 tyres. I'm sure the tires will give the drivers the confidence to push, and this will no doubt be aided by the electric atmosphere that will be created by the expected crowd. As always, this is a logistically challenging race as our team will have to travel the 875 kilometers from Mugello to our base in Clermont-Ferrand immediately after the race. Here they will unload the tires from Mugello before loading the trucks with the Catalunya assignment, and then continuing the journey for the last 600 kilometers to Barcelona.”
