MotoGP GP Qatar Free Practice 2 – Ducati one-two in the second free practice session of the Qatar Grand Prix, the opening race of the 2021 MotoGP, scheduled for Sunday at 19pm Italian time.

The best lap was set by Jack Miller, who recorded the best performance on the official Desmosedici with a time of 1:53.387.

The Australian driver preceded team-mate Francesco Bagnaia by just 35 thousandths, slowed down by a yellow flag at the end of the session due to the fall (without consequences, ed.) of Pol Espargarò.

The Ducati seemed unbeatable in the final sector of the Qatari track and only a great Fabio Quartararo, who moved to the Factory Yamaha Team this year, prevented the hat-trick, as Johann Zarco achieved the fourth fastest time.

Fifth time for Alex Rins' Suzuki, with the Spaniard ahead of the Yamahas of Maverick Vinales and Franco Morbidelli, 0.252s and 0.289s respectively from the top.

Aleix Espargarò took Aprilia to eighth place, “only” 0.340s behind Miller. A huge step forward for the Venetian company, which we remember will have Andrea Dovizioso test the RS-GP in Jerez.

Valentino Rossi confirms his ninth time in FP1, but like those ahead of him, he significantly lowered his time. The "Doctor", who moved to Team Yamaha Petronas this year (he still has an M1 Factory, ed.), is ahead of Pol Espargarò, the last of the riders in provisional Q2.

Reigning champion Joan Mir is surprisingly out, eleventh with Suzuki and ahead of Alex Marquez (Honda Factory LCR) and Team Ducati Pramac rookie Jorge Martin.

Our rookies Enea Bastianini (2020 Moto2 world champion and Ducati Avintia rider, ed.) and Luca Marini (Ducati Sky VR46 Avintia) occupy 15th and 17th place respectively, while Danilo Petrucci, who moved to KTM Tech 3 this year, is 20th at 1.387s from the summit. Last position for Lorenzo Savadori's Aprilia.
