Kaiser Marquez returns to the victory he has been missing since Valencia 2019
MotoGP GP Germany Sachsenring Race – Marc Marquez returned to victory 581 days after his last success at Valencia 2019.
The eight-time Honda world champion could only choose the "allied" Sachsenring track to return to the top step of the podium. A victory that came after three operations and many question marks over his future after the fracture of the humerus in his right arm which occurred in Jerez in July 2020.
Eight victories out of eight participations in MotoGP at the Sachsenring, eleven out of eleven also counting the minor classes. A victory that also came thanks to the characteristics of the circuit, left-handed and which did not cause too much difficulty for the arm which was still not in 100% shape.
On the podium were Miguel Oliveira with KTM, winner in Barcelona and already on the podium at Mugello, and Fabio Quartararo, the only Yamaha rider at the top.
Brad Binder on the KTM came fourth, ahead of the Ducatis of "Pecco" Bagnaia and Jack Miller. Aleix Espargarò on the Aprilia finished seventh, with the Spaniard finishing ahead of Zarco, Mir and Pol Espargarò.
Valentino Rossi finished 14th ahead of his brother Luca Marini (Ducati Sky VR46 Avintia) and Enea Bastianini (Ducati Avintia). Franco Morbidelli was only eighteenth while Danilo Petrucci fell after contact with Alex Marquez, a maneuver however triggered by his team-mate Iker Lecuona.
