MotoGP Coronavirus Covid-19 – The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports regretfully announce the cancellation of the HJC Helmets Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, the Motul TT Assen and the Grand Prix of Finland. The ongoing coronavirus outbreak has forced the cancellation of all three events.

The three races were scheduled for June 21st, June 28th and July 12th respectively on the Sachsenring, Assen and KymiRing circuits. For the first time in the history of the MotoGP, one of the most iconic races, the Assen TT, will not take place.

The cancellation of these events also entails the cancellation of the corresponding track activities of the FIM Enel Moto World Cup, Northern Talent Cup and FIM Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

Statements by Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta cancellation of German GP, Dutch GP and Finnish GP

“It is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of these three important Grands Prix in the MotoGP calendar. The German GP was held on a truly unique track with an incredible history, and the KymiRing would be an exciting venue set to welcome racing in Finland for the first time since 1982. And the iconic TT Circuit Assen had the unique honor of having been the only venue where a round of the MotoGP World Championship has been held every year, without interruption, since the championship began in 1949. On behalf of Dorna, I would like to thank all the fans for their understanding and patience while we wait that the situation improves. We look forward to returning to the Sachsenring and TT Circuit Assen in 2021 and look forward to the Grand Prix debut of the new KymiRing next season.”
