MotoGP | Misano: the Motor Valley Fest begins, the new asphalt "protagonist".

MotoGP 2020 – Today, Thursday 14 May, the 2020 edition of Motor Valley Fest will begin and will be broadcast in digital format for the first time.

At 15pm we will talk about the resurfacing of the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, completed at the beginning of March just before the lockdown imposed by the coronavirus emergency.

Maurizio Crispino, engineer and Professor of Roads, Railways and Airports at the Polytechnic of Milan as well as director of the MCI Infrastructures Engineering team, will talk about the completed project.

“Ours is a working method which, right from the design phase, poses the problem of finding solutions capable of achieving the expected results – anticipates Professor Crispino interviewed – in the case of MWC the objective was very high in terms of performance and extremely low tolerances. We immediately shared this with the suppliers who were willing to give 'beyond their maximum' to achieve the extraordinary quality result we had set ourselves. The project imposed very tight tolerances on the company and the supplier while providing for an intense test plan, to be carried out during the works, for constant and in-depth control of production and paving."

Also speaking at the 'Da Corsa' meeting will be Mattia Binotto (Team Principal Scuderia Ferrari), Roberto Dalla (CEO of the Media and Technology Center, Formula) and Claudio Domenicali (CEO of Ducati Motor Holding spa).

The new asphalt will be tested by pilots of national interest and residents of Emilia-Romagna. Valentino Rossi, who lives in the Marche region, is absent.
