MotoGP eSports – With MotoGP still stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic, we continue with the eSport races. After the Mugello and Red Bull Ring Grands Prix, won respectively by Alex Marquez and our Francesco Bagnaia, the Spanish Grand Prix will take place in Jerez on Sunday 3 May.

The third eSport race will take place on the same day as the "real" Spanish GP should have been held. The first two eSport races had great media success, in Austria there were also Valentino Rossi, Danilo Petrucci and Michele Pirro on the "track"..

As many as 29 broadcasters broadcast the event. Partners such as Sky Italia, Canal+ in France, DAZN (in Spain, Italy together with Germany, Austria and Switzerland), BT Sport in the United Kingdom, ServusTV in Austria and Germany, Viasat in Sweden and many others broadcast the event in Europe, while in America coverage was guaranteed by NBC in the United States and Fox Brazil and ESPN in Latin America. Eastern fans tuned in to Motorsport TV Russia, Eurosport India and Fox Asia, while Australian fans tuned in to Fox Australia and TEN. SuperSport broadcast the race in Africa, meaning that the second MotoGP™ Virtual Race has once again reached every continent on the planet!

There was also great success on social media. 520 digital contents were created - including the complete broadcast - for a total of 75 million impressions, with the involvement of MotoGP teams and riders. This is a 25% increase compared to the first Virtual Race, with video views rising from 13 to 14 million and the second Virtual Race was followed live by 3,2 million viewers. There were more than 2,5 million interactions related to Virtual Race 2 content, with fans having plenty to engage with! In total, a total of 8,5 million minutes of content viewed related to Virtual Race 2 was achieved, an increase of more than a fifth.

In order to help and support Two Wheels for Life, a fundraiser will be held to help fight Covid-19. The show will start at 15pm and for the first time will feature all three classes: MotoGP, Moto00 and Moto2.

The MotoGP teams will be able to field one rider each, with the exception of the Repsol Honda Team, which will have two as it is the reigning MotoGP champion. In Moto2 and Moto3, there will be 10 riders per category, with entry rights indicated by the championship standings after the Qatar Grand Prix.
