MotoGP Test Valencia Yamaha MotoGP Day 1 – Valentino Rossi said he was quite satisfied with the innovations brought by Yamaha to the Valencia tests.

The "Doctor" had two Yamaha M1s at his disposal, the 2019 version and the 2020 prototype, with a new frame, carbon swingarm and the evolution of the 2020 engine.

The new crew chief Davide Munoz was in the pits and setting tests were also carried out with him at the end of the session. The new engine already seems better than the "old", even if there is still work to do"

“It was a fairly positive first day because we worked a lot on the 2020 prototype, a different bike both in terms of chassis and engine. The first feeling is good, we are already in quite a good position. At the end of the day we also worked on the setting with David (Munoz, new crew chief, ed.) and we got along well. In the last hour I was quite fast and I kept a good pace even with the used tyres. So there's a lot to work on but it's a pretty positive first day.

“We have a slightly different engine that we had already tested, but it is an evolution and although the straight in Valencia is quite short, our bike already works a little better. There is still a bit to improve, but the power delivery and tire wear also seem good. It's not the definitive engine but it was important to try this step, then the definitive one will come."
