MotoGP GP Malaysia Sepang Honda Repsol – Jorge Lorenzo's championship up until now, with two races remaining at the end of the season (Sepang and Valencia, ed.), has been nothing short of disastrous.

The comparison with his team-mate Marc Marquez, winner of the title with the current 375 against just 23 for the Majorcan, is merciless.

Lorenzo had started his adventure with Honda badly, getting injured before the Sepang winter tests and then subsequently crashing heavily at Assen, also suffering fractures of some vertebrae.

Once in Sepang he took stock of the season on Sky Sport.

Statements Jorge Lorenzo #99 Repsol Honda Team GP Malaysia Sepang Physical Condition

“It's a difficult and tough situation, both physically and psychologically. Physically I had a very serious injury, the improvement is very slow, much slower than I expected and having to run races doesn't make recovery easy."

Statements Jorge Lorenzo #99 Repsol Honda Team GP Malaysia Sepang Honda RC213V 2019

“The 2019 bike gives less confidence to the front and combined with my physical condition means that we are unable to be competitive in a championship where the level is very high and where all the riders are physically at the top and where they feel comfortable with their motorcycle. The back injury has repercussions throughout my body and doesn't allow me to perform at my best.”

The situation at Repsol on the Lorenzo side is very tense, on one side the rider is claiming the two-year contract, on the other Honda was expecting different results from the Majorcan. A crossroads could be the 213 RC2020V, which once tested by Lorenzo could convince him to move forward or give up the "challenge".
