MotoGP | GP Valencia FP3: Quartararo is the fastest, Rossi is fourth

MotoGP GP Valencia Free Practice 3 – The MotoGP class riders took to the track in Valencia for the third free practice session under clear skies, but with winter temperatures, 11°c in the air and just 8°c on the asphalt.

The session, which decided the riders who directly access Q2, saw Fabio Quartararo as the protagonist, who set the best time aboard the Team Petronas SRT Yamaha with a time of 1:30.232.

“El Diablo” preceded Marc Marquez on the Repsol Team Honda by 0.224s and the Australian Jack Miller's Team Pramac Ducati by 0.311s.

Fourth time for Valentino Rossi, who after two crashes yesterday, managed to gain direct access to Q2. The "Doctor" who has a gap from the top of 0.398s, is followed by his teammate Franco Morbidelli (Team Petronas SRT), by team-mate Maverick Vinales and by the official Ducatis of Danilo Petrucci from Terni and Andrea Dovizioso from Forlì.

Joan Mir with the Suzuki and Cal Crutchlow with the Honda of Team LCR also directly access Q2. The latter also crashed at turn 10 without any consequences.

Among others, Pol Espargarò, Alex Rins, Johann Zarco, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Iannone and Francesco Bagnaia will pass through the Q1 trap. The Team Pramac rider was the victim of a bad fall while leaving the pits. His Desmosedici tipped forward, but the reasons are unknown: a brake problem or braking that was too hard to warm up the brake discs. The 2018 Moto2 champion was holding his right wrist.

Bagnaia was on the ground for a few seconds, then fortunately got up with his legs, but was taken to the medical center as he was very shaken.
