MotoGP GP Brno – The MotoGP World Championship is ready to return to the track after the summer break, with the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic in Brno.

The summer break was characterized by some rumors that Valentino Rossi was close to retiring, even by the end of the season, rumors obviously far from the truth, given that the Pesaro native has a contract until 2020, but which combined with the words of Lin Jarvis, Managing Director of Yamaha, (here the news) made the fans of #46 hold their breath.

In reality, as Rossi himself admits to Sky, he never even thought about quitting before the natural end of the contract, set for 2020, but that instead he intends to fight for and return to the top positions, as admitted in the press conference (here the news)

Valentino Rossi talks about retirement

“There is no longer any need for there to be any basis for rumours, you just need to think about which piece of news is the most newsworthy and if you say it it seems true. It was fun to hear everything that was said. Withdrawal? It's made up news. I'm running this year and next year too. This was never in doubt, even those who wrote it knew it in my opinion. They almost seem fed up with me running, I pay more attention to my fans around, I think there are more of them than those who want me to stop. It's the easiest thing to say that I have to stop, it seems a bit trivial to me. It's been going on for a long time, it's not a big deal to me. My problem was the disappointing results of the first part of the season. We can't wait for 2020, we have to focus on 2019, there are still a lot of races left. We expected to be competitive in the last four, we need to work better, the break was fine. Then I want to do even better next year, but for now I'm thinking about 2019. I'm not feeling good with the bike the way we're riding it this year, I can't even be at last year's level, we need to find the feeling and be faster. Before thinking about next year, we need to focus on the next races. I don't feel very good with the bike, so it's been very tough up to this point. The bike hasn't changed much compared to 2018, what has changed is the way of using it. So I have to find the right feeling with the bike. I have many good memories in Brno, it could be the right track to start from, here I won my first ever victory, there is always fun racing here".
