MotoGP Australian GP Phillip Island Honda Repsol Day 1 – Jorge Lorenzo ended the first day of free practice for the Australian Grand Prix, seventeenth stage of the 2019 MotoGP, in sixteenth position.

Honda's Majorcan continues to struggle in all conditions and expectations are not good for the race. At the end of the second round, the Spaniard was involved in a contact with his teammate which triggered a small spat between the two.

“My feeling is not good. I could have gone a little faster. In the morning I didn't want to risk too much rain. The soft tire allowed me to drop a second and a half. This race will be complicated because this circuit is one of those that has cost me the most lately.”

“The contact with Marquez? We both could have avoided it. I should have looked back and let him pass, he was too tight trying to make time. I get his side of the story and he definitely didn't mean to touch me. If I had left a few centimeters of margin it would not have more than a few thousandths. ”
